As your acupuncturist, herbalist, and body worker, I weave and combine my acquired skills and experience into the passion and love of my work. From a young age, nutritional health, exercise, and healing using the gifts of raw nature (herbs, plants, minerals, and water) were all passions of mine. I knew I wanted to be a “doctor” of some kind, and I knew I wanted to offer these gifts and education about the miraculous healing of which our bodies are capable.
From my early experiences with the only doctors that I knew existed (MDs), I usually left those brief 15-minutes visits feeling unseen and no better than when I walked in; and I could usually guess what I would walk out with—pain meds or antibiotics. I began questioning this system of medicine and asking questions, no longer just being the passive patient. I wanted to be active and participate in my healing. I wanted to know more.
I knew without a doubt that our bodies are really, really intelligent! And this intelligence was being brushed to the wayside, given no credit to do what it knows best: to heal itself and ask for help when needed. And so began my quest for the right healing method that resonated with me. Lucky for me, I found one! Actually, I’ve found many, and I chose to focus on one and dig in deeper. I was fortunate enough to know what I wanted to do—heal and help others—and eventually the path opened up to lead me to where I needed to go. For this I am grateful and, I am eager to share the knowledge of this exceptional medicine with those who are ready to receive, learn, and heal.
The patient-practitioner relationship is one of immense power and possibility. This is a sacred partnership; we are working together, we are teaching each other, and we are enabling only positive growth and evolution on every level of our being. I work very presently and honestly with everyone I see, treating each person with the utmost respect, care, and honor.
My goals for you as a patient are twofold. First, I strive to provide excellent nurturing and care that effectively treats your main concerns. Second, I endeavor to educate you and give you some form of take-home tools to assist your own self-care empowerment—herbs, exercises, dietary and lifestyle advice, or a combination.
Understanding what your body needs through the eyes of acupuncture and Chinese medicine can guide and enlighten a new way of seeing yourself and your healing journey. Knowledge is power. The more you know, the better you will be able to take care of yourself.
